What we first started in 1996 has since evolved and expanded through the years. Originally named Pharmatex, it was an established company that provided high-quality, innovative gloves to the medical industry and various sectors.

We rebranded ourselves to Mun. Armed with a greater purpose and mission, we devote ourselves to providing a more comprehensive range of products and services that enrich the lives and well-being of all ages.

Sowing the seeds of care

The incorporation of Pharmatex in Australia in 1996 was a caregiving initiative by Hartalega. Since the beginning, our goal has been to be the best at everything we do for our customers, community, and environment. Quality, consistency, and reliability are the values we hold close to our hearts.

Paving the way of a new era

In 2002, we were the first companies to introduce soft elastic nitrile gloves to the world when nitrile gloves were traditionally hard and uncomfortable to wear. This revolutionary product provided an excellent alternative to many healthcare workers who may be allergic to natural latex gloves. It was a ground-breaking product that prompted the transformation of the entire glove industry.

Penetrating the land of opportunity

With our revolutionary nitrile gloves gaining momentum, we extended our base to the USA in 2003. The following year, the Clinical Research Associates (CRA) graded our pioneered nitrile gloves as the Overall Best Non-Latex Glove. In addition, the CRA also rated another innovative product of ours, polymer-coated latex glove, as the #1 glove in the USA.

Outstretching to the east

With a mission to bring more excellent care to the fastest emerging parts of the world, we cemented our presence in Asia by establishing offices in China and India in 2010 and 2012, respectively. In markets challenged with unregulated products, we quickly became a dependable source for high-quality products and product education.

Our promise of care

The year 2014 marks a significant beginning of new possibilities. In line with our vision to provide care for many, we reinvented ourselves into a more extensive global brand—Mun. In Hindi, the word ‘Mun’ symbolises passion. And in Chinese Cantonese, ‘Mun’ means people. So together as Mun, we devote our hearts and our passion to the people.

Years of excellence

By 2021, Mun achieved a global presence in over 30 countries across six continents. Our diversified products enabled us to reach more people with distinct needs. So it is no surprise that many national and private healthcare groups and other industries chose Mun as their preferred supplier. The success led to a restructure and a reenactment of our Mun headquarters in Malaysia to strengthen our global position.
